The Integrity Commission published its 2024-25 Annual Report today. The report sets out details of training delivered, as well as statistics and summaries relating to every matter the Commission assessed or investigated.
The Commission marked a year of significant change and progress, in which it built on its engagement with the Tasmanian public sector and delivered targeted training to assist public entities to develop and embed ethical capability across the state.
“We built stronger relationships with external stakeholders in relation to ethical conduct in Tasmania and interstate, assisting them in fostering a pro-integrity culture and providing guidance in effectively investigating misconduct and preventing its recurrence,” said the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ellen McKenzie.
Ms McKenzie acknowledged the achievements and hard work of staff across the organisation throughout the year as they navigated the complexities of a number of sensitive matters.
After 10 years in the role, Chief Commissioner Greg Melick AO KC’s appointment concluded. He contributed substantial expertise that helped make the Commission Tasmania’s leading advocate for an ethical public sector. “The Commission expresses its gratitude to Commissioner Melick for his leadership and will continue to build on his legacy in fostering and strengthening integrity across the public sector," said Ms McKenzie.
Looking ahead, the Commission will continue working with Parliament, public sector agencies and external partners to implement reforms and strengthen ethical standards.
The Annual Report (PDF, 2.2 MB) is now available on the Integrity Commission’s website.
